An entirely unique red wine native to Austria that’s on the cutting edge of the new world, the 2008 ZANTHO Zweigelt gives me a thrill up my leg (cue Led Zeppelin’s “You Shook Me”). Seductive, fleshy, soft and dry—its visage is a sexy garnet, on the nose a whiff of cherry, and next the palate succumbs to its delicate caresses and soft whispers, setting up the anticipation of a happy ending. You may have never heard of a Zweigelt grape before, but come and give it a try. –J.M.
