Great Wine: Santa Ema Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

By

Looking for a badass Cab at a kickass price? Look no further. This one is like Samuel L. Jackson in Pulp Fiction, and just about any other movie he’s been in. Cue up Curtis Mayfield and other badass funk music from the 70s on the playlist, and you’ll set the right mood for a glass of this. The 2012 SANTA EMA Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is dark, thick, long and hard—time to get down like Pam Grier in those blaxploitation flicks Quentin Tarantino loves so much. Chicka chicka pow-pow. Very smooth with bold blueberry, blackberry, black cherries, bitter chocolate and an overriding note of menthol above the surface, giving it a hip, cool edge. Perfect for your Jules Winnfield moment as you recite Bible verses before you’re about to blow somebody’s head off with that gun in your hand—because this wine does pack some heat. And did we mention it’s from the land of Chile? And it’s only 12 bucks? Yeah, that’s right. So lay back and Chile-lax to this groove.  –J.M.
